About Me

About Me | Vancity Bride | Photo by Vivid Moments | http://www.vividmoments.ca

Vivid Moments | http://www.vividmoments.ca Hi everyone, my name is Jeannine Avelino. I was once a Vancity Bride, and after going through 9 months of rigorous wedding planning, I realized that pulling off a wedding on a tight budget is tough. This is what I’m here for, to help brides-to-be overcome bridal sticker shock. I have developed a reputation of being the go-to girl for wedding advice so I decided to put that to good use, on a much bigger scale. I’m very eager to share my ideas with you to help ease wedding-related stress. In addition to that, I introduce independent local vendors to show you that there are a lot of talented people here in Metro Vancouver that can help bring your vision to life. Not everyone is blessed with an unlimited budget, but for others like me out there, this blog’s for you! I hope you’ll enjoy reading it, as much as I enjoy writing it… 5 years and counting.

  • I have a tuxedo cat named Hobbes who loves bananas and hates salmon.
  • I work full time as a video editor… which makes this little labour of love, my hobby.

Do you like these photos? I do too… and although I don’t look like this everyday, it was a lot of fun getting dressed up and hanging out with some of my talented featured vendors. These are just some of the amazing people in the city who can help with your wedding. Thank you to those who made it all possible:

Testimonial: “As I delved into wedding planning, I was inundated with people who pushed their ideas or made me feel guilty/cheap for not spending life savings on one day of our lives. I was even told that we wouldn’t have the perfect marriage if we didn’t have the perfect wedding. I was horrified. It was compounded with the death of my bridesmaid and the emotional difficulty her loss brought to wedding planning. Vancity Bride made me feel I could make our wedding our own vision, even if we had an uneven wedding party. I also credit Vancity Bride with supporting my idea of what a great wedding can be without destroying the bank account. It was just really nice to see real people having a realistic wedding their own way and I really appreciated it.”
