My Etsy Pay It Forward Experience

My Etsy Pay It Forward Experience

Etsy Pay it Forward A few months ago, I was approached by Etsy to take part in their Pay It Forward campaign. It is their way of giving back to a regular Etsy buyer this season and at the same time encourage a new user to discover how awesome Etsy really is. As you already know, I have been a big fan of Etsy for the last 4 years. It is a wonderful resource for handmade gifts for others, for yourself and of course for brides who want unique items for their wedding. Their wedding section has gotten so popular that they now offer a wedding registry! What I like most is that with every purchase, you are supporting a small business somewhere in the world, and you know that they take pride in what they do.

It’s only appropriate that I was a part of this campaign during the holiday season. This is how it worked… Etsy gave me a $100 gift card for me to share with a friend… and I decided to choose my colleague from work and fellow blogger, Darcy… who is also a bride, by the way! (Congratulations again!) Why did I choose her? Because she’s a really sweet, kind and wonderful person who gives back to the community, and I appreciate all that she does in the station that I work at. So thank you, Darcy! And thank you Etsy for making this happen! Here’s a look at what we purchased…

Etsy Pay It Forward

I bought some gorgeous earrings (leftright) from Etsy shop LaLaCrystal. You know, if it weren’t for this campaign, I wouldn’t have been able to discover this Etsy shop. They have gorgeous, affordable handmade jewelry that could be perfect for bridesmaid gifts or perhaps even your own wedding jewelry. It was a very quick transaction… I think they even shipped the same day I bought them! Either way, the parcel arrived in just a few short days. My only complaint is that these earrings don’t include those rubber stops so you have to make sure your earrings aren’t falling out from time to time. Other than that, I’m a very happy customer and I’m glad I was able to recommend another shop to my readers.

Here’s what Darcy purchased, in her own words:

“It was like Christmas came early when my three Etsy prints from TheCuriousNickel arrived at the office today!  The double arrow collage is made from vintage images, torn paper and magazine ads, and the colours really pop.  I’m going to get them framed in black to make them really pop and put them up in my bedroom.  The ‘curious bear’ collage is just so unique.  You can see the calligraphy in the yellowed paper around his eyes – and an almost wooly pattern used for his back.  I can’t wait to get these up at my house!”

Have a great holiday season Darcy and enjoy your new artwork! Thanks again to Etsy for being so generous. You’ll find some more of my Etsy Finds on my blog, just search “Etsy Find” on the homepage and enjoy!

Will you be paying it forward this holiday season?

I love the earings! They are beautiful! I particularly love the leaf with stone accent earings. I would love to have those pairs of earings for Christmas and those earings can be used anytime and anywhere.
