The Vancouver Marriott Pinnacle Hotel
For The Budget Bride

When I was a budget bride, I had always been hesitant about hiring a hotel as a venue for our wedding. Why? Because of the sky-high minimum food and beverage spends! The minimum spends are budget brides’ worst nightmare. Then one day, I met Koreena Singh, Catering Manager for the Vancouver Marriott Pinnacle hotel. After talking with her for a little bit I found out that some hotels CAN be affordable after all. I decided to check out the place.

The Marriott Pinnacle is located in Coal Harbour, just steps away from Waterfront and not too far from Stanley Park. They have a few banquet rooms that would be perfect for budget brides. One of them, the newly renovated Point Grey Room can accommodate a guestlist of 40-110 people for a sit-down reception. It is also connected to the 3rd Floor Patio which is a great place to have an outdoor ceremony. You’ll have an urban backdrop as you say your “I do’s” and if rain chooses to fall on your day, you have the option of taking your event indoors or renting a tent. The minimum food and beverage spend is only $8,000 but can be negotiable if budget is an issue. Room charge may even be waived if you are meeting food and beverage requirements or availing of their other services like audio visual equipment rentals. Koreena will work with you to create a contract you will be comfortable signing.

Plated menus start at $57 per person. Koreena has sent me a sample menu that you can get for this price:

Artisan Bread & Rolls w/Butter

First Course
Sweet Corn Bisque
dungeness crab, piquillo peppers

Second Course
Grilled Wild Salmon
mushroom gnocchi, roasted tomatoes

Third Course
White Chocolate Lychee Parfait
lychee jelly and mousse

Freshly Brewed Coffee & Teas

If you happen to have a minimum of 120 guests celebrating with you, you get to enjoy some more added perks like…

  • Complimentary wedding webpage – including wedding info, maps, registry links, and guests can even book accommodations through that page
  • Menu tasting for up to 4 guests
  • Complimentary monogrammed printed menus
  • Day-use of guestroom for the bridal party
  • Complimentary valet parking for the bride and groom (overnight)
  • One-night stay in a Harbourview room – includes chocolate dipped strawberries, champagne, breakfast in bed, and a late checkout
  • $100 towards your 1 yr anniversary dinner in Showcase Restaurant

… just to name a few! If you have less than 120, speak with Koreena about special concessions because this package may be applicable to smaller parties as well!

There are other ways to save with the Marriott Pinnacle. The ballrooms and patios are beautiful enough without the need for too many extra decorations, a great cost-cutter. With an event booking, the hotel will include white table cloths, white napkins, votive candles, silverware, china, and table number stands. As an added convenience, they have their own pastry chef so you may order your wedding cake in-house. Parking is also available at the hotel for a reasonable price of $6 a day on weekends.

The hotel has a 3rd level patio, connecting to the Point Grey Room, and also a 5th level patio, is this the one you are referring to as the “Roof Top Garden Patio”? Or are there 3 patios in total? I am looking to have my wedding held there.

Hi Annie, I contacted Koreena and she said that there are only 2 patios, the 3rd floor and 5th floor and as for the promo you get either one depending on the size of your wedding :) Feel free to send her an email if you have any more questions :) Have a great day!

Hi Jeannie I have emailed Koreena myself already, and she’ll check for availability for me in 2012! The venue seems like a really nice place and if the price is right, then I’ll be saying I do’s there! Fingers crossed for a nice price tag!
