Affordable Wedding Decor From IKEA

Living in the Metro Vancouver area, we are extremely fortunate to have, not one, but TWO IKEA branches. Did you know that IKEA can be a good source for affordable wedding decor? I made good use of it for my cocktail table centrepieces. All it took was a candle dish ($8.99), a lantern ($3.99), a tealight, some rocks and a gerbera daisy from the dollar store. It was simple, re-sellable, and it looked good, don’t you think so? Let me show you what else you can use for your wedding that you can find at your closest IKEA store :)

IKEA is a great source for candles, they have many different kinds, including tealights ($3.99/100), block candles ($1.99-$3.50), tapered candles ($6.99/8), and floating candles ($5.99/24).

They also have different tealight holders like the Galej ($1.99/4 – shown above) and the Joker ($0.99 – shown below).

If you’re making a seating chart, the easiest way to do it is use a large picture frame that holds multiple 4×6 pictures. That way, you can add photos of you and your fiance among the seating lists. IKEA has a frame for that too ($24.99).

You can find lots of vases for cheap, which you can then keep for your own use after the wedding or re-sell. The Rektangel series has a few you can choose in a variety of sizes including this medium sized one ($5.99 – shown below), and a taller version ($6.99).

These Rajtan spice jars can be used for favours like small candy or chocolate. You could even print out a circular label to stick on the side. This jar is definitely something your guest will be able to reuse ($3.99/4).

These may be seasonal but these super cute Socker vases would be great for garden or vintage themed weddings. ($12.99/2)

They also carry wrapping paper from time to time, which can work for wrapping prizes or even your cardbox.

All this is just the tip of the iceberg. I suggest taking a stroll through your nearest Ikea to see what you can use for your own wedding. All it takes is a little creativity :) You’ll be surprised at what you can come up with for such an affordable price.
