Recap: The Original Bridal Swap 2015

This is my third time checking out The Original Bridal Swap and I swear it just keeps getting bigger and bigger… and better! I walked in at 11:30 AM and already I saw lots of people leaving with boxes full of stuff. Most likely the Early Birds… which I really think is beneficial at the Bridal Swap because once the item is gone, it’s gone! I checked out the wedding dress sale first. There were so many dresses, all nicely sorted by size. Lots of excited brides-to-be were looking through the racks… I did too, out of curiosity, and I saw some dresses for as low as $200. What a steal!

I decided to check out the main hall and wow was it ever packed! There were so many people selling lots of amazing items… what caught my eye though were all the handmade items people were selling. There were so many wooden signs, handpainted jars, printed signs, and even handmade table runners and a gorgeous ribbon backdrop (scroll down to see it). Whether you were having a vintage, rustic or contemporary wedding, you’d be able to find something here. I thought there was a nice variety of items for brides-to-be to peruse through.

There were also lots of vendors to meet. I met a few and I’d like to introduce them to you :) Whisk Vancouver was showcasing (and selling) their little cakes in jars. I thought it was such a great idea, and an awesome alternative to serving cake at your wedding. It’s cake that you can take home and enjoy later. If I received this as a wedding favour, I’d be pretty ecstatic :)

I also met Freckled Stationery, a local designer and Etsy seller. They were selling funky printed signs for $5 at the swap but if you check online you’ll see that they create other wedding stationery as well like seating charts, menus, programs, table numbers, and labels.

Cherry On Top is a local gift company that creates custom gift boxes and greeting cards. I love these cartoon cards that they can customize to look like you and your hubby! So cute!

This was such a great event… DreamGroup Productions ensured it was a seamless and fun event. There was such a good vibe… Everywhere I looked, there were excited brides beaming over their newly found bargains. My tip though… go early… and grab the Early Bird tickets if you can. There were a lot of beautiful items this year and if the trend keeps going the way it is, next year’s Bridal Swap will be even better. Congrats to DreamGroup for another successful swap and to the couples who found some amazing bargains. For more photos, check out the gallery on my Facebook Page.
