Vancouver Wedding & Honeymoon Show Recap - Sept. 30, 2012

It was a gorgeous day for a wedding show this past Sunday. I was able to check out the annual Vancouver Wedding & Honeymoon Show Fall edition, saw some familiar faces and met a few new ones and most importantly, came out with some promos and deals for you that extends beyond the show!

Vancity Vendor Chic and Unique Event Design was at the show with her gorgeous display tables and a special offer for brides who book with her before November 15, 2012. The deal: $3.50 per chair cover (any kind) and includes sash, setup and takedown. She’s got some beautiful stuff – those who were at the show got a firsthand look at her spandex chair covers which were used on the chairs for the fashion show. Owner, Kristy Sherwood also told me that a brand new showroom will be open soon, which is very exciting news! To find out more about Chic & Unique Event Design, visit their website and don’t forget to mention this deal!

The lovely ladies of Boutique Studios were a pleasant sight to see. Kari (right) and Marcee were showcasing both their wedding and boudoir portfolio and even offered a special promotion for Vancity Bride readers! If you mention that you found them on Vancity Bride and book a wedding with them before November 30, 2012, you will get a complimentary engagement session! It’s a great deal and you get a talented duo to cover your wedding. To see more of their gorgeous work, check out their website.

Clara Couture was the wedding dress sponsor of the show. Dresses from their store were showcased during the fashion shows. They even had a sample sale going on, where some lucky brides found their dream dress for half off! Clara Couture is located on Burrard and Broadway, definitely a place to check out because they carry lots of budget-friendly dresses. Everything they carry is around $2,500 or less.

Garry Robertson DJ Entertainment is a staple at the Vancouver Wedding and Honeymoon Show and after chatting with them for a bit, I found out that they offer deals to Brock House brides. The deal: book their Classic package ($799) for your Brock House wedding and receive an extra hour of DJ services for free! Find out more about Garry Robertson DJ here.

Ashley Ann Photography is a new face to the Vancouver Wedding & Honeymoon Show and she’s offering a discounted engagement session rate for anyone who mentions the show. It’ll be $350 instead of the regular $600… almost 50% off! She is also offering NO HST until spring of 2013 if you book with her. To see her portfolio, check out her website!

It was a pleasure to also see some friends of Vancity Bride including Vancity Vendor Raymond & Jessie Photography, Randal Kurt Photography, & Real Weddings. It was also great to meet a photographer whose work I’ve been admiring for a while, Chris Chernoff Photography. As usual there were lots of honeymoon vendors including local destinations like the Okanagan to more exotic locations like Hawaii, the Cook Islands, and Mexico.

The fashion show was definitely the highlight of the show. The gowns chosen by Clara Couture are all so pretty and you can see most of them in my Vancouver Wedding & Honeymoon Show gallery on my Facebook page… But you have to be a fan first!

Thank you to the show organizers for putting on another successful show and giving me and my readers the opportunity to attend! They’ll be preparing for January’s Wedding Fair now so stay tuned for future news on that too!
