Located in the heart of Cloverdale is a little bridal shop owned by Anca Tantos. It has always been her dream to be in the wedding industry and just over a year ago, after marrying her husband, it finally came true. Helping brides choose their wedding dresses allows her to be a part of such an important time in their lives, which makes her job so gratifying. The success of Anca’s Bridal is apparent, she’s even taken on producing a new wedding show premiering next week, the My Dream Wedding Show.

Anca’s Bridal carries a variety of dress styles for brides, bridesmaids, and mothers of the bride. Their collections are affordable with most of their wedding dresses costing under $1,000 and bridesmaid dresses between $150 and $250. If you buy 3 or more bridesmaid dresses, a 15% discount is applied on your purchase! You’d be saving the tax and a little bit more! Designers include Da Vinci, Mori Lee & Sophia Tolli. Their dresses mostly come in white, ivory and sometimes champagne coloured. Dresses are made to order but they always have “off the rack” dresses that are up to 50% off if you need a dress in short notice or just want to save a little bit more! Anca says they offer great discounts on these dresses because the dresses are discontinued. Anca recommends brides to purchase their dress 9-12 months before the big day because most dresses take between 6-8 months to arrive and you need extra time for alterations. Upon receipt of your dress from the designer, you can have them store it in their fully insured facility until it’s time to take it home closer to your big day! They do offer in house alterations for an extra cost.

A Few Words With Anca…

What do you have to offer to brides with lower budgets?
“Our prices on bridal dresses start at $400 and don’t go higher than $3000. Most of our dresses are in the $600-800 range. We offer stunning dresses and amazing prices, making it easier for you to say yes to your dress!”

How do you choose which designers and dresses to sell? What are your criteria?
“When I choose which designers I would like to represent and sell in my store, I look for a few things:

• Exceptional quality
• Caters to all shapes & sizes
• I can rely 100% on the company to deliver satisfaction.
• I can have a great relationship with the company
• That the prices are in the budget of my brides.”

What kind of dress would make the biggest impact on a small budget? Do you have a certain dress in store that will give the wow factor for a budget price (under $2000)?
“Because most of our dresses fall under $2,000 you will most likely find a dress that has everything you are looking for! I highly recommend designer Mori Lee, there dresses are to die for and the prices are too good to be true!”

What do you enjoy most about your job?
“I love everything about my job but my absolute favorite is when my bride finds her dream dress and she has a minute with her mom to celebrate. It is the most amazing feeling & you can’t help but cry with happiness with them!”

What one piece of advice would you give to a bride when it’s time to choose a dress?
“Remember, you don’t have to try on every single dress in Vancouver to find your perfect dress. For most brides it’s the first one they try on! If you feel amazing, comfortable & beautiful, than that’s the one for you.”

What one piece of advice would you give to a bride and groom for their wedding?
“Have the best time. It’s YOUR day. Friends and family came out to celebrate the two of you and you love for one another. Take in every moment, because it goes by very quickly!”
