The Tri-Cities Baker’s Market Recap – May 28

May 30th, 2011 by Jeannine

Macarons by French Made Baking

This event was highly anticipated… why? Because I love sweets and love to support small businesses :) It was great to meet a bunch of people so passionate about their craft (which were all excellent by the way!). I spoke with show organizer Kimberley Mulla of Kimberley’s Kitchen, she says that there will be more vendors in the upcoming shows, so to me, this first day was a tease! I will definitely have to make the next few to meet some more talented local bakers… and perhaps you should too! A tip for the next show… BRING CASH, in case you get tempted by their samples, it would be a good idea to have some money so you can purchase some yummy goodies to enjoy at home.

Here’s a peek at what was available at the show last Saturday, a lot of them would make great wedding favors, just contact the vendor and ask if they are able to take on your order… for the full gallery, please visit my Facebook page.

Delicious scones and marmalades by Hearth and Larder
(I recommend the orange pecan scone… yum!)

Loaves, cookies, and other teatime treats by Em’s Gems (the spiced apple loaf is really good).

Fun shaped cookies by iBakery (she also makes buttercream icing cakes)

Her rates are budget bride friendly!

And last but not least… Kimberley’s homemade gourmet marshmallows.
She also makes marshmallow pops if you’d like a unique edible wedding favor.

I just wanted to say thank you again to all the vendors I met today, I hope to see you again soon! For those who missed it, the next market is this Saturday, same time, same place – 10 am – 2 pm at the Evergreen Cultural Centre in Coquitlam. See you there!

See my previous post for future market dates.
