Vancity Vendor: Konstantin Photography

Konstantin Egorov - Konstantin Photography Vancouver photographer Konstantin Egorov got his start while travelling through one of his favourite countries, Japan. He bought his first DSLR there because he wanted to capture the beauty the Land of the Rising Sun had to offer. He is a self-taught photographer. For two years he relied on online resources and attended workshops (one of them was hosted by acclaimed wedding photographer Jerry Ghionis) which propelled him into a new venture as wedding photographer. He has been shooting weddings for 5 years, but this is his 3rd year as a full time photographer… and he’s still loving every moment.

Konstantin Photography focuses on wedding and engagement photography. Konstantin tells me that their price list is a “living document” and is dependent on what specials the vendors they deal with are currently offering. They constantly revise their rates to accommodate this and to give their clients a great value. Right now, their starting packages start at $1,999 and are all-inclusive, which means you will receive an engagement session, one or two photographers (depending on the package), and an album. If you catch Konstantin at a wedding show, he normally offers discounts so keep an eye out! For more information on Konstantin and to stay updated, visit his social media links below:

A Few Words With Konstantin…

Konstantin Photography What do you have to offer for brides with lower budgets?
“We offer a wedding gift registry and payment plans.”

What sets you apart from others in the same field?
“First and foremost our product line is second to none. Let me show you our albums – there is nothing like that on the market. Secondly, there is something that you probably weren’t thinking about is turnaround time. You’re going to see your images in 2 weeks. How many of your friends who’ve gotten married have never seen their pictures or seen them months after? And finally, the other thing to consider among many other things that we offer, it’s not an apples to apples comparison, but I’d like to think that we give our clients a better overall experience than you’re going to have anywhere else. Our imagery is completely unique, and I think ultimately when it comes to creating a family heirloom for you and your family in the future we’re going to be able to hit that mark for you.”

Konstantin Photography How would you describe your shooting and photo editing style?
“Our style is glamorous but natural, simple but dramatic.”

What do you enjoy most about your job?
“After 3 minutes with me – any person who hates to have their photos taken or thinks she doesn’t look good on the photos – start trusting my directions.”

What was the most creative shot you took and how did you come up with it?
“One of my favourite creative shots that I did is of the groom and his brother lighting the cigar with the Scarface poster in the background. A match and a small table lamp that we borrowed from the bedroom lighted the scene. That poster was actually there, I just saw it and had to find a light source that I could use because the hot shoe flash that I had on my camera would just ruin the look.”

Konstantin Photography Which part of the wedding is your most favourite to shoot and why?
“Creative photos between ceremony and reception are my favourite. This is when our clients do whatever I tell them to because those creative photos are the reason they hired us. The attached photo was taken at Safeway. The clients trust us that we will get the beautiful shots regardless of location.”

Where is your favourite place/part of the city to take pictures for a shoot?
“Swaneset Golf Course is a gorgeous venue. We used one shot from the wedding that we did there in our ad on the back covers of all three major wedding magazines in Vancouver.”

If you had one piece of advice for a bride and groom, what would it be?
“Enjoy your wedding day.”
