Vancity Vendor: Natalia Reardon Photography

Natalia Reardon is a proud Aussie who found love in Canada. In her travels through our beautiful country, she met the love of her life and one day, packed her bags and got on a plane to Vancouver. She left her life in Australia as an interior designer and started a new one on the west coast with a new career in photography. She had been pursuing it on the side for many years but finally made the big decision and didn’t regret it one bit. Maybe our beautiful city helped inspire her? ;) Natalia is a people person and loves capturing life’s most special moments, and she’s been doing just that for the last 3 years.

Natalia Reardon Photography focuses on wedding and engagement photography but also provides other services including maternity, newborn, portrait, and styled shoots. Packages start at $1,200 and includes 4 hours of coverage with a DVD of high-resolution images. Albums, photobooks, and canvases are also available and if you need a bit of extra photo coverage for your event, she says her hourly rates are very competitive.

Be sure to like her Facebook page and follow her on Twitter to stay on top of her latest work. She often has seasonal promotions or referral discounts and that’s the only way you’ll find out about them!

A Few Words With Natalia…

What do you have to offer for brides with lower budgets?
“I often provide promotions for referrals and flexible packages for brides on a lower budget. After a consultation, I can get an accurate idea of the brides and grooms needs for the perfect wedding package.”

What sets you apart from others in the same field?
“I have over 8 years of experience in Design with qualifications in portraiture, composition, digital editing, interior decoration and management. I add my unique flair to the style of photography and services I provide. Not only do I strive to take beautiful images, but I feel it’s very important to provide exceptional time management and interpersonal skills.”

How would you describe your shooting and photo editing style?
“A photojournalistic approach is extremely important to me. I take particular notice in capturing authentic moments and raw emotion to tell a story of the wedding day. I would like to describe my style as portraying romance, natural beauty, vintage inspired lighting and colours, creative composition and bringing out the personality of the couple.”

What do you enjoy most about your job?
“I am truly passionate about taking beautiful and creative images, but I also love building relationships and deeply care about my clients. Being behind the lens is one thing, but helping create the magic that gets captured is an exhilarating experience!”

What was the most creative shot you took and how did you come up with it?
“At one of the weddings I shot, the bridal party lit sparklers and I got them to spell the word love using some cool exposure techniques.”

Which part of the wedding is your most favourite to shoot and why?
“I love to capture the moments between the bride & groom with their wedding party. There is so much joy and authenticity during the portrait shoots!

Where is your favourite place/part of the city to take pictures for a shoot?
“Vancouver is definitely an incredible city and I especially love to photograph places with Character and unique architecture. Gas Town is a favorite!”

Do you draw inspiration from other photographers?
“I draw inspiration from photographers like Jasmine Star that not only strive to excel in their photographic quality, but where work ethic, passion and humility within the job are just as important.”

What should your clients expect when they have their first consultation with you?
“The first consultation is primarily me getting to know the clients and vise versa. We share ideas with one another, the couples desires for the day and collaborate a timeline of the wedding.”

If you had one piece of advice for a bride and groom, what would it be?
“Be yourselves, have fun, and don’t stress (ok so that’s 3 bits of advice haha). But seriously, your wedding day only comes once and its such an amazing journey so soak everything in! And if you’re like me and your wedding passes by in a blur, that’s exactly why you have hundreds of photos to look back on afterwards!”
